The media art work "Pivotal Tree (Dangsan Tree)" by Pivotal Lab was selected for the Seoul Media Art Project, sponsored by the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture in collaboration with Sulwhasoo by Amorepacific.

About the Work
Pivotal Tree is a contemporary reinterpretation of the Dangsan Tree, a traditional Korean village guardian tree that symbolizes protection, longevity, and communal connection.
Serving as a symbolic object that conveys peace and well-being amid a chaotic and uncertain modern society, the work presents a vibrant and interactive digital tree within a virtual environment that mirrors the real-world surroundings. Despite being a simulation, the immersive scale and visual fidelity of the work create the illusion of a monumental tree rooted in the actual space.
Through its dedicated website(http://www.pivotaltree.com), visitors were also invited to submit personal messages, which were displayed within the artwork—transforming it into a participatory piece completed through audience interaction.
