Hwadamchae, the first themed garden in Hwadam Forest, located in Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do,
hosted its 2025 special exhibition with creative contributions from LIVELAB.
We presented two original works: the interactive media art “Meta Forest” and the real-time interactive content “Meta Tree.”
<Meta Forest>
A forest beyond time and space.
This piece reinterprets the seasonal themes of Hwadam Forest, transforming them into an imaginative digital landscape.
At the heart of the forest stands the Wishing Tree, where visitors can hang their own illustrated wish papers.
The wishes radiate light, illuminating the entire forest in a symbolic gesture of shared hopes.
<Meta Tree>
A digital twin of bonsai trees from Hwadam Forest's bonsai garden.
Visitors use an interactive light device to closely examine the trees, revealing intricate textures and forms.
As the light moves across the surface, the delicate beauty and aged character of each bonsai come to life, offering a meditative and tactile appreciation of time and craft.
